Crash: Mind Over Mutant came out on the Nintendo DS in 2008, developed by Radical Entertainment. It was part of that era where a lot of platformers were trying to do more with dual screens, but this one kept things pretty straightforward for a handheld adventure. You're just Crash Bandicoot again, dealing with another one of Doctor Neo Cortex's messy plans.
You control Crash directly, running and spinning through levels to stop Cortex from controlling everyone's minds with a new device. The main goal is to explore each area, defeat enemies, and find your way to the end of the stage. Key mechanics include using a new "jack" move to possess mutants, which then lets you use their unique abilities to solve puzzles or attack other foes; you also collect Mojo to upgrade your stats. The pacing is generally brisk, though some sections can feel a bit repetitive, and the difficulty is manageable for most players. It feels like a comfortable, if not particularly ambitious, return to classic Crash action on the go.
