Play Cribbage Online
Play Cribbage on MS-DOS, take turns with a computer opponent, score points with card combinations, and race your peg around the board to win.
Cribbage from the MS-DOS Classic Games collection is a straightforward digital adaptation of the classic card game, developed and published by Microsoft as part of their entertainment pack series. It arrived during a time when simple, well-executed diversions were common on home computers, offering a clean, no-frills way to play a traditional game without needing a physical deck or a partner.
You play against a computer opponent, taking turns to play cards from your hand to score points based on combinations like pairs, runs, and totals of fifteen. The main objective is to be the first to move your peg all the way around the board by accumulating points through both the play of the hand and the counting of your crib. Key mechanics include pegging points during the play phase and then counting your hand and the crib afterward, with the computer handling all the scoring calculations automatically. The pacing is methodical, matching the thoughtful nature of the original game, and the difficulty stems from the AI's consistent, logical play rather than any unfair advantages. It feels like a quiet, focused match against a patient and skilled opponent.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
