Custom Robo Arena is one of those DS games that somehow makes tiny robot battles feel huge. You start by picking a basic robo frame—some are quick but fragile, others are tanks that hit hard but move like they’re stuck in molasses. Then you get to tweak everything: guns, legs, even the little boosters on their backs that decide whether they’ll zip around or just faceplant after a jump.
The fights are chaotic in the best way. One second you’re dodging homing missiles, the next you’re cornered in a tiny arena while some jerk with a flamethrower closes in. Half the fun is experimenting with weird combos—like giving a lightweight robo a stupidly huge cannon just to see if it can even lift the thing (spoiler: usually not).
It’s got that classic DS charm where the graphics are simple but the gameplay hooks you. I lost way too many bus rides to this thing back in the day.
