Daemonsgate came out in 1993 for MS-DOS, developed by Imagitec Design Inc. It was one of those early role-playing games that tried to bring a dark, gritty fantasy world to life on the PC, with a focus on exploration and real-time combat. The game didn't have the polish of some bigger titles from that era, but it had its own distinct, moody atmosphere that drew players in.
You control a lone hero tasked with closing a demonic portal, the Daemonsgate, to save the land of Hestor. Gameplay involves navigating the world screen by screen, engaging in real-time sword combat, and managing your inventory of weapons and items. The pacing is deliberate, and the difficulty can be punishing; random enemy encounters happen frequently, and you need to be cautious with your health and resources. It feels tense and immersive, especially when you're low on supplies and deep in hostile territory.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
