Danan - The Jungle Fighter is one of those old-school Sega Master System games that feels like a forgotten Saturday morning cartoon. You play as Danan, a warrior tasked with stopping the resurrected demon Gilbas by tracking down three sacred artifacts—an orb, an amulet, and a knife, all suspiciously labeled "of Light." The setup’s simple, but the jungle vibes are strong: you’ll slash through ogres, dodge giant bees, and somehow end up fighting valkyries in what feels like a fever dream of '80s fantasy tropes.
What makes it weirdly charming are the animal buddies. Find three tokens in yellow chests, and you can summon an eagle to airlift you out of trouble or a monkey that… honestly, I forget what the monkey does. The third animal’s a mystery—some kind of jungle cryptid, maybe. Boss fights are classic "hit them a million times" affairs, and the difficulty’s brutal unless you stumble on an elixir (good luck with that).
