Game Overview

Demon Blue came out in 1992 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, published by Microforum. It was one of those many side-scrolling action platformers that filled shareware catalogs back then, a familiar sight next to games like Commander Keen or Duke Nukem. You played as a little blue demon, which felt novel at the time, even if the setup was straightforward.

You control the demon through a series of single-screen levels, jumping on platforms and avoiding enemies like bats and skeletons. The main goal is simply to reach the exit in each stage, but getting there means dealing with instant-death spikes, tricky jumps, and enemies that respawn if you leave the screen. The pacing is fast, and the difficulty is unforgiving; you learn the layouts through repetition, memorizing where to wait and when to move. It feels like a tense, methodical dance where every mistake sends you back to the start of the level.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
