Play Designasaurus Online
Mix and match dinosaur body parts, create your own prehistoric creature, and see how it survives in different habitats in this quirky 1988 educational title.

Designasaurus came out in 1988 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series from DesignWare. It was a simple, educational title from a time when many games were still figuring out how to blend learning with play on the PC platform.
You control a cursor to select different dinosaur body parts, mixing and matching heads, bodies, and tails to create your own prehistoric creature. The main objective is to build a dinosaur that can survive in a specific habitat, testing your design against environmental challenges. The signature mechanics involve dragging and assembling parts on screen, then watching an animation of your creation walk (or stumble) across a landscape. The pacing is slow and thoughtful, more like a digital toy than a high stakes game. It feels like a quirky, hands on science experiment from the late 80s.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
