Game Overview

I remember playing Dig It! back in 1996, part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection from Pixel Painters Corporation. It was one of those simple, straightforward titles that fit right in with the era, when games didn't need elaborate stories or 3D graphics to hook you. You just jumped in and started digging.

You control a little guy with a drill, moving screen by screen through soft dirt and tougher rock. The goal is to uncover hidden X marks while avoiding enemies like hedgehogs that patrol the tunnels. Some walls crumble easily; others require a few extra seconds of drilling, so you learn to listen for the change in sound. The pacing is methodical, almost meditative, but the threat of running out of fuel or getting cornered keeps you alert. It feels like a quiet race against your own patience and the clock.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
