Discovery: In the Steps of Columbus came out in 1992 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series, published by Titus Interactive. You take on the role of Christopher Columbus, aiming to prove that sailing west could lead to new trade routes, or in this case, an undiscovered continent.
You control your ship and crew across a tiled map of the Atlantic, managing supplies like food and water while keeping morale high to avoid rebellion. The main goal is to reach the New World, but getting there involves careful navigation, trading with coastal towns for resources, and dealing with random events like storms or illness. Progress is slow and deliberate; mistakes in planning can leave you stranded or facing a mutiny. It feels like a tense, thoughtful journey where every decision carries weight.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
