Game Overview

Disney’s Bonkers on the Sega Genesis is one of those weirdly charming licensed games based on the cartoon about a bobcat cop. The setup’s simple: Bonkers wants to win a "best policeman" contest while his partner’s away, so he’s gotta nab four criminals—each with their own bizarre mini-game.

First up, you’re flinging doughnuts at thieves in a museum (because why not?). Then there’s this frantic brick-wall-building round where you trap a guy in a yard, followed by a bomb-defusal panic where you dig through crates for clothes (don’t ask). The last one’s a top-down car chase that feels like someone mashed up Pac-Man with a cop drama. Each mini-game gets harder the more you play, and if you nail three in a row, you unlock a bonus round—usually something silly like whacking moles or dodging falling anvils.

It’s janky in that classic 90s way, but the variety keeps it from getting stale. You’ll either love how random it is or wonder what the developers were thinking.
