Don't Go Alone was one of those 1989 MS-DOS releases from Accolade that felt like a natural part of the era's experimental, often unforgiving, adventure landscape. It didn't try to dazzle with cutting-edge graphics; it was more about a specific, eerie mood, the kind of game you'd load up after dark with the volume turned up just a little too high.

You control a team of paranormal investigators, moving them room by room through a sprawling, malevolent mansion. Your main objective is to uncover the source of the haunting and survive with as many of your team intact as possible. The game plays out screen by screen, with you directing your investigators to search furniture for clues, use items on environmental puzzles, and occasionally fend off spectral threats. The pacing is deliberate, almost tense, because the mansion fights back; doors lock, objects move, and your team's sanity is a resource as precious as their health. It feels like conducting a very dangerous science experiment where the variables are actively hostile.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
