Play Doom 64 Online
You're still the lone marine cleaning up hell's mess, but now the halls twist unexpectedly and shadows play tricks on you—even familiar demons move wrong. That new Unmaker gun starts as a joke until you feed it enough demon keys, then it shreds.

Doom 64 came out in 1997 for the Nintendo 64, developed by Midway Games. It was a time when 3D shooters were still finding their footing on consoles, and this entry offered a darker, more atmospheric take on the series. While many players were busy with Mario or Zelda, this one carved out its own niche with a moodier, more isolated feel.
You control the same space marine from earlier Doom games, fighting through demon-infested military bases and hellish landscapes. Your goal is straightforward: survive, find keys, and eliminate anything that moves. The gameplay retains the fast, run-and-gun style of the originals, but adds new elements like interactive light switches that can plunge rooms into darkness, and a new weapon called the Unmaker that grows more powerful as you collect demon artifacts. The pacing is relentless, and the level design often traps you in close quarters with ambushing enemies. It feels tense and claustrophobic, especially when you're low on ammo and listening for footsteps in the dark.
