Game Overview

Dr. Doom's Revenge came out in 1989 from Medalist International, a side-scrolling beat 'em up for MS-DOS that felt right at home alongside other comic book games of the era. You could pick Spider-Man or Captain America, each with their own moves, and the story unfolded through static comic book panels that gave a little context to the action.

You control your chosen hero through a series of linear levels, punching and kicking through waves of Doombots and other henchmen. The main goal is to stop Doctor Doom's latest scheme, which involves fighting through his fortress and defeating bosses like Electro. Signature mechanics include using character-specific abilities, such as webbing enemies or throwing your shield, and navigating environmental hazards. The pacing is brisk, and the difficulty can be unforgiving, especially during boss encounters. It feels like a straightforward, sometimes clunky, brawler that relies heavily on its Marvel license for appeal.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
