DOOM II: Hell on Earth came out in 1994 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games lineup, developed by id Software. It arrived when first-person shooters were still finding their footing, and it built directly on the fast, aggressive style of the original DOOM. The game didn't try to reinvent the wheel; it just gave you more of what worked, with bigger levels and a nastier bestiary to blast through.

You control a space marine stranded on an Earth overrun by demons. Your goal is straightforward: fight from level to level, find keys to open doors, and ultimately stop the invasion. Signature mechanics include frantic run-and-gun combat, managing limited ammunition across an arsenal of shotguns and rocket launchers, and navigating complex, often trap-filled environments. The pacing is relentless, and the difficulty quickly ramps up, demanding quick reflexes and smart movement. It feels like being thrown into a meat grinder that you somehow have to operate from the inside.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
