Play DoubleLink Online
Connect matching tiles, clear the board, and adapt to shifting grids in this classic MS-DOS puzzle game from the early 90s.
DoubleLink was part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, though it didn't come from a major developer or publisher. It was one of those simple, unassuming puzzle games that quietly filled out shareware catalogs and floppy disk binders in the early 90s, a time when a clever mechanic was often enough to keep you at the keyboard for hours.
You control a cursor to select and connect matching pairs of tiles, but every time you make a match, the entire grid shifts to fill the empty spaces. This constant rearrangement forces you to think several moves ahead, as a clear path can vanish in an instant. The objective is to clear the board completely, and the difficulty ramps up steadily with more complex tile sets and tighter layouts. It feels like a calm, methodical test of your pattern recognition and adaptability, with each successful match delivering a satisfying little digital chirp from the PC speaker.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
