Dragcity USA is one of those MS-DOS racers that somehow feels faster than it looks. The second you hit the gas, the screen blurs with that chunky pixel speed effect they loved in the '90s—your car practically vibrates off the starting line. No fancy tutorials, just a menu where you pick your ride (I always went for the blue one with the weird spoiler) and then you're immediately swerving through traffic like a maniac.
It's got that perfect arcade feel where the controls are simple—basically just steer and pray—but nailing a tight drift between two buses still makes you grin. The tracks loop through these grimy cityscapes with flickering neon signs, and the soundtrack is all muffled engine growls and tire screeches. Definitely janky by today's standards, but in the best way possible. If you've ever played OutRun and thought "I wish this had more potholes and questionable collision physics," this is your game.
Still holds up if you're into that raw, seat-of-your-pants racing vibe.
