Draglade came out for the Nintendo DS in 2007, developed by Dimps Corporation. It was part of that wave of DS games that tried something different, something that felt a little experimental and wasn't afraid to be loud and stylized. It didn't get a ton of attention, but it carved out its own space.
You control a fighter in a 2D side-scrolling brawler, moving through urban stages to beat up rival gangs. The main goal is to rise through the ranks by winning these street fights. The signature mechanics are its rhythm-based combat, where you tap the touch screen in time with the music to execute special moves called "Beats," and the ability to customize your fighter with different "Grav" modules that change your abilities. The pacing is fast, and the difficulty comes from timing your attacks to the soundtrack rather than complex button inputs. It feels like a chaotic, musical brawl where your success depends on keeping the rhythm.
