Draglade is one of those weird, wonderful DS games that shouldn’t work but totally does. You’re basically a street fighter who throws punches and kicks to the beat—mess up the rhythm, and your combos fall apart. At first, I kept button-mashing like it was a regular brawler, but once I got the hang of tapping attacks in time with the music, fights started feeling like a mix of Dance Dance Revolution and Street Fighter.
The characters are all ridiculous in the best way (one guy fights with a giant boombox), and pulling off a perfect combo where every hit syncs with the soundtrack never gets old. It’s got that DS-era charm where everything’s a little janky but bursting with creativity. If you’ve got a soft spot for rhythm games or fighters that try something different, this one’s a hidden gem.
