You’re basically a street fighter who powers up attacks by tapping beats on the touchscreen mid-battle. Miss the rhythm, and your special moves fizzle out pathetically.
The first time I played, I kept messing up the timing and getting wrecked by some punk with a guitar-axe. But once it clicks, you start chaining combos with these over-the-top animations—like summoning a dragon made of soundwaves or dropping a literal bass cannon on someone. The soundtrack’s full of cheesy electronic bangers that somehow make losing feel less awful.
It’s janky in that early DS way, but there’s nothing else quite like it. You’ll either love the chaos or walk away after five minutes.
