Game Overview

Drivin' Force came out on the Amiga in 1990 from Digital Magic Software Ltd. It was one of those racing games that tried to push the hardware a bit further, using a pseudo-3D perspective that was becoming more common at the time. You had a choice of six different vehicles, each with their own handling, and the tracks covered a mix of terrain from asphalt to dirt.

You control one of the vehicles, competing in three main modes: Knockout races where you eliminate opponents one by one, a League championship, and shorter Mini races. The objective is simply to win, navigating twisting tracks while managing your speed and avoiding crashes. The signature mechanics include the split-screen two-player option and the need to learn how each car responds on different surfaces. The pacing is fairly quick, and the difficulty can be sharp, especially when trying to hold a lead on narrower sections. It feels like a straightforward, no-frills racer that demands concentration and good reflexes.
