Game Overview

Dual Heroes was one of those early N64 fighters that tried to do something different—instead of just copying Street Fighter or Tekken, it went for this weird hybrid of martial arts and supernatural powers. You’ve got ninjas throwing fireballs, sumo wrestlers doing spinning piledrivers, and some characters who just straight-up teleport. The controls take a minute to get used to (why is block on the Z-trigger?), but once you figure it out, the fights get surprisingly fast and chaotic.

Graphically, it’s very much a product of its time—chunky polygons, stiff animations—but there’s a charm to how over-the-top everything is. My favorite part? The arenas. One minute you’re fighting on a floating island, the next you’re getting knocked into a pit of lava. It’s not the deepest fighter out there, but it’s got personality. If you’re into weird ‘90s fighting games, this one’s worth a few rounds.
