Play Dynasty Warriors DS - Fighter's Battle Online

Dynasty Warriors DS: Fighter's Battle came out for the Nintendo DS in 2007, developed by Koei Tecmo. It was part of that wave of portable spin-offs trying to capture the feel of a console series on a smaller screen, back when the DS was full of experiments with its dual screens and touch controls. This one tried to shrink the massive battlefields of Dynasty Warriors into something you could play in short bursts.

You pick a famous general from the Three Kingdoms era and lead their army across a grid-based map, screen by screen. Your goal is to capture enemy bases by defeating all the soldiers inside, which often leads to a one-on-one duel with the rival commander. Combat is simple; you mash the attack button for combos, use a special skill, and occasionally tap the screen for a powerful strike. The pace is faster than the main games, but it still has that satisfying feel of mowing down crowds of enemies. It's a stripped-down, tactical version of the usual Dynasty Warriors chaos, and it works surprisingly well for quick sessions.
