Game Overview

Earthsiege came out in 1994 for MS-DOS, developed by Dynamix. It was part of that wave of early 90s mech games, sitting alongside titles like MechWarrior 2, but it had its own distinct, gritty feel. The graphics were polygonal and the sound was crunchy, typical for the era, but it built a solid world of conflict between humans and the alien Cybrids.

You control a HERC, a large walking combat vehicle, from a first-person cockpit view. Your main goal is to complete missions, which usually involve destroying enemy units or defending bases. Key mechanics include managing your energy reactor to avoid shutdowns, swapping weapon systems on the fly, and targeting specific enemy components to disable them. The pacing is deliberate; you move slowly, plan your shots, and retreat to cool down. It feels tense and tactical, like every engagement could be your last if you mismanage your systems.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
