Play Edna Online
Play as a petty witch brewing spiteful potions, solving puzzles, and rhyming insults while platforming through a grimy fairy tale. Everything backfires in the best way.

I first played Edna back in the late 90s, after picking it up from a bargain bin of MS-DOS Classic Games. It was developed by Signum and released in 1997, right when the PC gaming scene was full of experimental titles that didn't always get a lot of attention. This one felt like a strange, personal project from a small team, the kind of game you'd share with friends because it was just so odd and memorable.
You control Edna, a grumpy witch who has to platform through a grim fairy tale world, brewing spiteful potions and solving puzzles to progress. The main goal is to escape your captivity, but the real joy comes from interacting with everything; you combine items in unexpected ways, hurl rhyming insults at characters, and watch as your plans hilariously backfire. The pacing is deliberate, almost puzzle heavy, with a difficulty that makes you think rather than react quickly. Playing it feels like stumbling through a darkly comic story where every mistake is part of the fun.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
