Egaint was part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, though it never had a numbered release. It came out during the early 90s, a time when many developers were experimenting with action-puzzle hybrids on the platform. The game doesn't have a widely recognized publisher, which adds to its somewhat obscure charm.
You control a small, agile character tasked with navigating a series of single-screen rooms. Your main goal is to collect all the keys in each level to unlock the exit while avoiding or outsmarting various enemies. The gameplay relies heavily on timing your movements and using environmental hazards to trap foes. You often have to lure enemies into specific positions or wait for the perfect moment to dash past them. The difficulty is unforgiving; one wrong move usually means starting the room over. It feels tense and deliberate, rewarding careful planning over quick reflexes. Successfully clearing a tricky stage after several attempts brings a genuine sense of accomplishment.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
