Elevator Action EX came out for the Game Boy Color in 2000, published by Taito. You control a spy moving through a multi-story building, floor by floor. Your goal is to retrieve secret documents from specific rooms and then escape via the exit, all while avoiding or eliminating guards. The gameplay hinges on using elevators to navigate between floors, ducking into doors to hide, and engaging in close combat with kicks and punches. The pace is tense; alarms trigger easily, flooding screens with more enemies. It feels methodical yet rushed, a careful balance of stealth and sudden action. Playing it is like executing a tight, risky plan that could fall apart any second.
