Game Overview

ElfLand: Volume Two – The Troll Caves is one of those MS-DOS platformers that somehow nails that perfect mix of charm and challenge. You pick either Elfie or Elfita (I always go with Elfita—her sprite just looks cooler) and jump your way through this vibrant, slightly chaotic world of floating trees, caves, and way too many trolls. The controls are tight, which is good because you’ll need pixel-perfect timing to land on those moving clouds.

What I love is how it’s not just mindless jumping—you’ve got these flash berries to stun enemies, hidden paths tucked behind waterfalls, and NPCs who actually give useful hints instead of just spouting nonsense. And yeah, water kills you instantly unless you hitch a ride on a turtle, which is equal parts hilarious and stressful. The whole thing feels like a love letter to early '90s platformers, with chunky sprites and a soundtrack that’s way catchier than it has any right to be.

If you’ve ever wasted an afternoon on Commander Keen or Jazz Jackrabbit, this’ll hit that same nostalgic sweet spot. Just watch out for the troll chieftain—guy’s got a mean throwing arm.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
