Play Eliza Online
Type your worries into this old-school digital therapist—it spins them back as questions, making you pause even though you know it’s just code messing with your head.

Eliza came out in 1988 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, developed by Don Daglow and published by Electronic Arts. It was a text adventure that stood out in an era when many games were about action or fantasy; this one made you think, and it didn't need fancy graphics to do it.
You don't control a character in the traditional sense. Instead, you type your thoughts and problems into the program, and Eliza, acting as a digital therapist, rephrases your statements into questions. The main objective is simply to engage in conversation, to see how the program responds to your input. Its signature mechanics include parsing keywords from your sentences and reflecting them back with open-ended prompts, creating an illusion of understanding. The pacing is slow and deliberate, encouraging introspection rather than quick decisions. It feels strangely personal, even when you know it's just an algorithm picking apart your words.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
