Play Eric the Unready Online
You play as Eric, a hilariously incompetent knight stumbling through pun-filled puzzles and snarky dialogue—half the fun is seeing how badly you can fail and still get roasted by the game.

Eric the Unready came out in 1993 for MS-DOS, developed by Legend Entertainment. It was part of that wave of adventure games where text and humor took center stage, and it fit right in with the kind of titles people played on their PCs back then.
You control Eric, a bumbling knight who must rescue a princess, though the real goal is surviving the game's relentless wit. You explore screen by screen, solving puzzles that often rely on wordplay and absurd logic; combat is clumsy and usually ends in embarrassment. The pacing is slow and thoughtful, with a high chance of failure, but the writing is sharp enough to make every misstep entertaining. It feels like being part of a clever, interactive comedy where your own mistakes are the punchline.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
