Game Overview

Estpolis Denki (or Lufia & the Fortress of Doom if you're playing the English version) is one of those classic SNES RPGs that somehow flew under the radar compared to heavy hitters like Final Fantasy. You play as this kid who gets dragged into stopping these ancient god-like villains called the Sinistrals—pretty standard "save the world" stuff, but the combat's snappy, and the dungeons have these little puzzle elements that keep you on your toes.

What I like is how it doesn’t waste your time—you’re thrown right into the action, and the turn-based battles feel quicker than most RPGs from that era. The music’s got that nostalgic SNES charm too, all dramatic synths during boss fights and weirdly calming in towns. Just don’t expect deep character arcs; it’s more about the dungeon crawling than story twists. Still holds up if you’re into retro RPGs with straightforward charm.
