Executive Suite came out in 1982 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series, developed by Armonk Corporation. It was one of those early text-based business simulations that felt right at home on computers of the era, where strategy games were often more about numbers and decisions than flashy graphics.
You play as a mid-level manager trying to climb the corporate ladder. Your main goal is to get promoted by making smart choices in meetings, managing your department's performance, and navigating office politics. Key mechanics include allocating resources to different projects, responding to random events like sudden budget cuts or rival sabotage, and balancing your reputation with upper management against team morale. The pacing is deliberate, almost tense; every decision carries weight, and mistakes can set you back significantly. It feels like a high-stakes puzzle where people, not monsters, are the real obstacle.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
