Play F-1 Grand Prix Part III Online
Slide Senna into a slow car just to watch him work, then wrestle with that slippery SNES handling until you're nailing Eau Rouge flat-out. The penalties sting, but nailing a perfect lap makes up for it.
F-1 Grand Prix Part III came out on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1994, developed by Video System. It was part of a wave of racing games trying to capture the technical challenge and speed of Formula 1 during that era of 16-bit consoles, offering a more serious alternative to the many arcade-style racers available at the time.
You control a single Formula 1 car from a selection of teams, each with different performance characteristics, with the objective of winning the World Championship across a full season. The game is known for its precise car setup adjustments, which let you tweak gear ratios, wings, and suspension to find an edge, and its demanding penalty system that harshly punishes cutting corners or hitting walls. The racing requires patience and practice, as the cars feel weighty and prone to spinning if you are too aggressive with the controls. It feels deeply satisfying to finally master a difficult circuit and put together a clean, fast lap.
