Play F1 Online
Race your F1 car from a top-down view, shift gears, manage tire wear, and compete against opponents on classic circuits to win each Grand Prix.
F1 on the Sega Master System came out in 1993, published by Domark. It was one of the later releases for the console, arriving at a time when the 16-bit generation was already in full swing. The game offered a straightforward Formula One racing experience, a niche that felt both ambitious and constrained by the 8-bit hardware.
You control a single F1 car from a top-down perspective, racing against a grid of opponents on circuits like Monaco and Silverstone. The main objective is to win each Grand Prix by finishing first across a set number of laps. Signature mechanics include manual gear shifting, which requires careful timing to avoid losing speed, and managing tire wear that affects your grip in corners. The pacing is fast, and the difficulty is steep; one mistake often means spinning off the track with little chance of recovery. It feels tense and demanding, especially when trying to hold a lead in the final lap.
