Game Overview

Fade to Black (1995) is the sequel to the acclaimed Flashback: The Quest for Identity, continuing the story of Conrad, a hero imprisoned by the alien Morphs. Freed with the help of the enigmatic Ancients, Conrad must battle the Morph invasion while navigating a web of distrust. The game shifts from Flashback’s 2D platforming to a fully 3D polygonal world, featuring dynamic camera angles reminiscent of Alone in the Dark. Armed with an array of weapons, Conrad fights through enemies and solves environmental puzzles—though his movement is more limited than in the original, lacking jumps or climbs, with dodging as his primary defense.

Notable for its early adoption of 3D action-adventure mechanics, Fade to Black blends combat, exploration, and narrative intrigue. While its controls and camera drew mixed reactions, the game remains a fascinating piece of mid-’90s gaming history, bridging the gap between classic cinematic platformers and emerging 3D design.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
