Play Fahrenheit 451 Online
You play a fireman burning books until guilt kicks in—now you're hiding poetry in vents and sweating as cops pound on your door, typing fast to ditch evidence before they catch you. The text somehow makes it more intense, like you're really memorizing lines under pressure.

Fahrenheit 451 came out in 1984 for MS-DOS, developed by Trillium Corporation. It was one of those early text adventures that tried to do something a little different, adapting Bradbury's novel into an interactive experience. At the time, it stood out for its serious subject matter and its attempt to translate a literary classic into a game format, something not many were doing on home computers then.
You control Guy Montag, a fireman whose job is to burn books, but you soon turn against the system. The main objective is to evade capture by the authorities while trying to preserve forbidden literature. You explore locations screen by screen, interact with objects and characters through typed commands, and must hide books in clever spots like air vents. The pacing is tense; you often have to type commands quickly to ditch evidence or escape before the police break in. It feels like a race against your own hesitation, every decision carrying weight.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
