Play Fantastic Four - Rise of the Silver Surfer (XenoPhobia) Online
Team up as the Fantastic Four, switch between characters, solve puzzles, smash obstacles, and race on the Silver Surfer's board to save Earth from destruction in this 2007 action adventure.
Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer on the Nintendo DS came out in 2007, published by 2K Games. It was one of those licensed tie-ins that popped up around the time of the movie, trying to capture some of that handheld action adventure spirit. The DS had a lot of experimental titles back then, and this one fit right in with its mix of platforming and team based puzzles.
You control all four members of the Fantastic Four, switching between them to use their unique powers. Reed Richards stretches through narrow vents, Sue Storm creates force fields to block lasers, Johnny Storm melts obstacles with fire, and Ben Grimm smashes through walls and enemies. The main goal is to stop the Silver Surfer and Galactus from destroying Earth, which involves navigating levels screen by screen, solving environmental puzzles, and fighting off enemies. Some sections shift to the Silver Surfer himself, where you race on his board in high speed flying sequences. The pacing is fairly straightforward, though the camera can be awkward at times. It feels satisfying when you coordinate the team's abilities to overcome a tricky section.
