Okay, so Fantasy Zone on NES is this wild little arcade shooter where you're basically a spaceship (Opa-Opa, who looks like a chubby egg with wings) saving pastel-colored planets from these weirdo Menon aliens. They're stealing space money to fund their invasion, which—honestly? Kind of relatable. Your job: zoom around upside-down, blast everything that moves, and grab all those sweet, sweet coins they dropped.

Each planet's got these hidden enemy bases—eight in the NES version, not ten like the arcade—and you've got a radar to sniff them out. Clear those, then fight a big screen-filling boss that usually looks like a deranged toy. Between levels, you'll hit up floating shops to upgrade your guns or engines, which is clutch because some later enemies are absolute bullet sponges.

Fun quirks: The Tengen cart only makes you find six bases (easier!), and if you unlock Upa-Upa mode, you play as Opa-Opa's sibling with a pay-per-shot weapon system that drains your coins. Also, two bosses get swapped for their Sega Master System versions, which is a neat deep-cut for retro fans.
