Play Fantasy Zone - The Maze Online
Navigate tight mazes as Opa-Opa, collect large dots, shoot enemies, and race against the clock in Fantasy Zone - The Maze on Sega Master System.
Fantasy Zone: The Maze came out for the Sega Master System in 1987, developed and published by Sega. It was a spin-off from the main Fantasy Zone shoot 'em up series, shifting the action from open skies to tight, enclosed mazes. At the time, it offered a different kind of challenge for players who were used to the straightforward shooting of the original.
You control Opa-Opa, the sentient ship, navigating a series of single-screen mazes. Your goal is to collect all the large dots in each stage while avoiding or shooting enemies. Two key mechanics define the play: hitting a red spot in the maze temporarily stops enemies from spawning, and a strict timer constantly pressures you to move quickly. The pacing is intense; you're always racing the clock, making even minor mistakes costly. It feels like a tense, focused scramble where every second counts.
