Game Overview

Fantasy Zone II: Opa-Opa no Namida is one of those games that looks cute but will absolutely wreck you if you're not careful. You play as Opa-Opa, a little spaceship with tiny wings and way too much personality, flying through these dreamy pastel planets full of enemies that look like they escaped from a toy box. The first level lulls you into thinking it's just a cheerful little shooter—then suddenly you're dodging bullet hell while trying to scrape together enough coins to upgrade your weapons.

The time attack mode is where things get properly intense, and the bosses? Ridiculously big compared to Opa-Opa. The music's got that classic SEGA bounce to it, and honestly, watching your ship cry actual tears when you die (yes, that's what the subtitle means) is both hilarious and kind of motivating. It's a weird, colorful challenge that holds up way better than it has any right to.
