Farm Frenzy 3 on the DS is one of those games where you start with a tiny patch of land and suddenly realize three hours have vanished while you were frantically juggling chickens and tractors. You’ll plant crops, collect eggs, turn wool into sweaters—basically running a chaotic little farm economy where everything happens just a little too fast. The animals are weirdly expressive, and there’s something satisfying about upgrading your rickety old truck to something that doesn’t take forever to deliver goods.

It’s not all peaceful harvesting, though. Bears show up to wreck your stuff, and sometimes you’ll forget to refill the water trough, leaving your poor cows staring at you accusingly. The touch controls work surprisingly well for tapping around your farm, even if you occasionally misplace a fence. If you’ve ever wanted to run a farm without the actual dirt, this is a pretty good way to do it.
