Fascination came out in 1991 for MS-DOS, developed by Coktel Vision. It was part of that wave of early '90s adventure games that relied on a mouse and a lot of patience, fitting right in with its pixelated visuals and text parser interface. You control a man named Bob, and your main objective is to successfully use a powerful love potion to win over a woman within a strict time limit. The gameplay involves screen by screen exploration of a city, talking to a cast of strange characters, and using or combining items in your inventory to solve puzzles. The logic can feel obscure, requiring you to try seemingly nonsensical actions, like bribing a informant with a adult magazine you found earlier. The pacing is deliberate, almost slow, and the difficulty comes from figuring out what the game wants you to do next. It feels like stumbling through a bizarre, slightly seedy dream where every interaction is a potential dead end.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
