Play Fatal Fury (Europe) on sega Online

Terry’s fireballs feel chunky, Joe’s tornado kicks send guys flying, and Geese’s stage still has that ridiculous moonlit tower—controls are stiff, but the two-plane brawling’s got that old-school charm.

Game Overview

Fatal Fury on the Genesis feels like a rough but cool port of SNK's arcade brawler. You've got Terry Bogard's wild hair and that iconic red cap, Andy with his ninja vibes, and Joe Higashi throwing kicks like he's allergic to standing still. The two-plane fighting (jumping between foreground and background) was mind-blowing back then—still kinda neat now, even if the controls feel a little stiff compared to later fighters.

Geese Howard's stage has that ridiculous moonlit tower vibe, and Billy Kane's spinning staff hits way harder than it should. It's not as polished as Street Fighter II, but there's something charming about how over-the-top the special moves are. The Genesis version loses some flash, but the core brawling still holds up if you're into retro fighters.

Just don't expect to beat Geese on your first try—guy's still a nightmare.
