Game Overview
Fighting Force 64 is one of those N64 beat 'em ups that feels like a love letter to arcade brawlers, but with just enough 3D chaos to keep things interesting. You pick from four characters—each with their own weirdly satisfying special moves—and then smash your way through waves of goons in destructible environments. I always went for the big guy, Hawk, because his piledriver move never got old.
The levels are surprisingly interactive for an N64 game—you can chuck enemies through windows, break furniture over their heads, or even flip a car onto them if you're feeling extra mean. The co-op mode is where it really shines, though. Grab a friend, pick complementary fighters, and watch as your teamwork devolves into hilarious friendly fire incidents within minutes.
It's not the deepest fighter out there, but sometimes you just want to punch a dude so hard he flies into a neon sign. Fighting Force 64 gets that.
