Game Overview
Art of Fighting 2 is one of those old-school fighters that somehow still feels satisfying to play, even if the sprites are a little chunky by today’s standards. The second game in the series tightens up the combat—less awkward than the first, but still brutal when you mistime a move. You’ve got this roster of martial artists with wild specials (Ryo’s fireball still feels great to land), and the desperation moves add some real tension when you’re down to a sliver of health.
It’s got that classic SNK difficulty too—expect to get wrecked by the CPU until you figure out the timing. The zoom-in camera during super moves never gets old, though. If you’re into 90s arcade fighters, this one holds up surprisingly well on MAME.
