Play Final Assault Online
Final Assault is a 1987 Amiga mountain-climbing simulation. Players manage gear weight, choose trails with varying difficulty, and use joystick controls to navigate climbs.

Final Assault came out for the Amiga in 1987, published by U.S. Gold and developed by Infogrames. It was one of those early attempts at a mountain climbing sim, something a bit different from the shooters and platformers that filled most disks at the time. The graphics were functional, with a focus on the interface and planning rather than flashy visuals.
You play as a climber attempting to scale a major peak, managing your gear, oxygen, and stamina through a series of menu-driven choices and real-time climbing sections. The main goal is to reach the summit and return safely, which means carefully rationing supplies and picking routes that match your remaining energy. You click through equipment screens to adjust your load, then use the joystick to control your ascent during the actual climb, watching for rockfalls and sudden weather changes. It's a slow, deliberate game where mistakes add up quickly, and success depends more on patience than quick reflexes. Reaching the top after a long, careful climb gives a real sense of earned accomplishment.
