Play Firemen, The (Japan) Online
You juggle two firefighters at once, dodging walls of flame and rescuing panicked idiots from a skyscraper that really wants to kill you—those fireball bosses are pure nightmare fuel.

Okay, so Firemen is this weird little SNES game where you play as two firefighters trying to save people from a burning skyscraper. It sounds straightforward, but the fires are weirdly aggressive—like, you'll be spraying down a hallway when suddenly a flaming chandelier crashes down or a wall of fire just lunges at you. Boss fights are against sentient fireballs that take up half the screen.
You control both firefighters at once (one with each thumbstick), which is chaotic but kind of fun once you get the hang of it. The civilians you rescue just stand there screaming until you drag them out, and honestly? Some of them deserve to burn for how dumb they act. The pixel art is surprisingly detailed—you can see the smoke curling around doorframes and the way the water from your hoses slicks the floors.
It never got a US release, which is a shame because it's way more intense than you'd expect from a game about firefighting. Definitely one of those "Japan had the weirdest ideas for action games" moments.
