You ever wanted to run around as Fred Flintstone, dodging pterodactyls and hopping over lava like it's just another day in Bedrock? That’s exactly what this SEGA Master System gem lets you do. The first thing you’ll notice is how spot-on the visuals are—it looks like the cartoon came to life, right down to Fred’s goofy grin when he grabs a Bronto Burger (which, by the way, you’ll want to hoard like your life depends on it).
It starts simple—just jumping over rocks and avoiding dinosaurs—but then you’re suddenly riding a triceratops or figuring out how to bounce on those weird stone slabs to reach higher platforms. The controls take a second to get used to (Fred slides a bit when he stops running), but once it clicks, you’ll be chucking rocks at enemies and laughing when they go down with a cartoonish *poof*.
It’s not the hardest platformer out there, but that’s part of the charm. You can practically hear the show’s laugh track in the background as you play. If you grew up with the Flintstones or just love retro games with personality, this one’s a solid time capsule.
