Flipper was part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, a release that bundled several titles from that era. It was developed by a small team whose name isn't widely remembered now, but it fit right in with the straightforward, single-screen arcade experiences common on the platform.
You control a paddle at the bottom of the screen, moving it left and right to bounce a ball upward into a field of destructible blocks. The main objective is to clear all the blocks without letting the ball fall past your paddle. Key mechanics include ricocheting the ball off moving obstacles and collecting power-ups that alter your paddle's size or the ball's speed. The game starts calmly but quickly escalates into a frantic test of reflexes, demanding precise timing and quick reactions. It feels like a constant, satisfying struggle against chaos.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
