Frantic Flea is one of those weird, frantic (duh) SNES platformers where you play as a flea with a jetpack—yeah, it’s as bizarre as it sounds. You bounce around these surreal levels, blasting enemies with your weird little gun while rescuing your flea buddies from the Insideos, who look like something out of a bad acid trip.
The controls take a second to get used to—your jumps feel floaty at first, but once you figure out how to chain them with the jetpack, you’ll be zipping around like a caffeinated insect. The art style’s got this gross-but-charming vibe, like someone mashed up Ren & Stimpy with a biology textbook.
It’s not the deepest game, but there’s something weirdly satisfying about bouncing off walls and shooting giant bacteria. Definitely a cult favorite for SNES fans who like their platformers a little unhinged.
