Game Overview

FriendlyWare PC Introductory Set is one of those unassuming MS-DOS collections that somehow sticks in your memory. You boot it up, and suddenly you're seven years old again, fumbling with the keyboard while a blocky little game patiently waits for you to press the right key. It's not fancy—just a handful of simple typing drills and memory games dressed up in basic ASCII art. But there's something weirdly comforting about it.

I remember the typing challenges most—those blinking letters demanding you hunt down each key like some kind of digital treasure hunt. Mess up, and the game just waits. No angry buzzers, no time limits breathing down your neck. Later, you'd graduate to matching games where pairs of symbols hid behind numbered tiles, the kind of thing that made you feel like a genius when you cleared the board.

It won't blow anyone's mind today, but that's not the point. This was the gaming equivalent of training wheels, and it did the job perfectly. If you've got a soft spot for early PC days when everything felt new and slightly mysterious, this little set might just hit the spot.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
