Game Overview

Ever wanted to build your own mech from scratch and then throw it into tactical battles? Gachasute! Dyna Device Blue is one of those rare GBA games that actually lets you do that—no fluff, just pure mech-customizing goodness. You start by picking parts for your Dyna Device, and I’ll be honest, the first time I played, I had no idea if I should go for heavy armor or a lightweight speed build. Turns out, both work, but you’ll curse yourself when a sniper mech picks you apart from across the map.

The battles are grid-based and surprisingly deep for a Game Boy Advance title—think Front Mission but with that classic, slightly chunky GBA pixel art. Watching your customized mech stomp across the battlefield never gets old, especially when you pull off a perfectly timed attack with a weapon you spent way too long tweaking. It’s a shame this never got an English release, but if you’re into tactical RPGs or just love mechs, it’s absolutely worth tracking down. The menus are all in Japanese, but after a few fights, you’ll start recognizing the icons anyway.

This is one of those games where losing a battle just makes you go back to the garage and rethink your entire strategy. And that’s the best part.
